- Having lived in a European country with a public option, I know it is the pits. For example, people often travel to other countries for surgery because the waiting times are too long at home. The U.S. has an excellent healthcare system, but minor tweaks would imprive things.

- A $1.75 trillion deficit is unimaginable to me. Our entire system is out of whack.

- It creates an image issue for Democrats overall, much in the same way that past scandals have hurt Republicans. Rangel makes it worse.
